EACH Group Has A Digital Display
HDTVs
Classroom 21C provides a digital display for each work group.
Displays 1 and 3 are Panasonic 55-inch 3D capable plasma displays. Display 3 is connected to Mediacom cable television. Display 2 is a 60-inch SHARP LED Smart TV. Displays 4 and 5 are 50-inch Toshiba LED TVs.
Other Displays
Groups can also use the ActivBoard, the Mondopad, and the theater projector to display their work. The 78-inch Promethean ActivBoard is an interactive whiteboard that utilizes Promethean ActivInspire software. The Promethean ActivTable is a Windows 7 touch-screen computer that has an app interface for elementary students. The InFocus Mondopad is a mobile interactive whiteboard, videoconferencing and touch-screen computer. The theater projector is an Optoma EH500 3D multimedia projector that projects a 153-inch image onto the wall.

EACH Group Can Share Their Display with the Rest of the Class
Classroom 21C has an RTI video switcher that allows any group to display their work on one, some, or all of the classroom displays. The switcher is controlled by an iPad app and a wall panel.
Participants can display their work through the wireless presenter system or Apple TV. We will soon add Chromecasts to the system for Chromebook and Android users.

EACH GROUP has an interactive audio pod
Classroom 21C has a Flexcat from Lightspeed Technologies. The instructor wears a microphone that is connected to a whole-room speaker for whole group instruction. The Flexcat system also provides the instructor with an earbud and a remote control. From across the room, the instructor can listen in to each group as they are working through each group's wireless pod. Each group can also quietly ask for help with a "call" button on the wireless pod, and the instructor can provide differentiated guided instruction to groups that need assistance.
Other audio equipment
An omnidirectional Blue Snowball microphone is available for video conferencing. In-ceiling angled speakers and an amplifier provide high quality audio while using the theater projector.

The Lighting is flexible and adaptable
Traditional fluorescent lighting was replaced with LED lighting. The dimmable lights are controlled by the RTiPanel app on an iPad, and two wall panels. The lights dim on a three-second fade, so no one will be blinded when the lights come up.
The lights in the corners are Philips hue bulbs. The bulbs are controlled wirelessly, and can change color and brightness with an app on a phone or tablet. Each bulb's color and brightness can also be changed by IFTTT recipes (such as flashing red for a tornado warning, or transitioning colors based on the time of day).

There are outlets everywhere
Need to charge up your laptop, phone, or tablet? No problem. Electrical power is built into the each table, and in the couch in the Learning Lounge.
There are no computers
This used to be a computer lab, but we took the computers out. We are in a bring-your-own-technology world--participants can bring in any device (phone, laptop, tablet, Chromebook, etc.), and use the tools in the room to think, create, communicate, and collaborate.
But there are computers in the room...
The Mondopad and the ActivTable are both Windows 7 touchscreen computers. The Xbox One with Kinect allows participants to browse the Internet and conduct Skype sessions, and the Kinect allows participants to control the Xbox with their voice or hand gestures.
For those participants without devices, many types of devices are available for checkout, including iPads and Chromebooks.
